/ Swissotel @ Clark Quay

-- Post From My iPhone
Went for our farewell company dinner at Ellenborough Market Cafe @Swissotel Merchant Court yesterday. The hotel is located at Clark Quay, very near Clark Quay MRT station, in fact it is just 5 minutes walk away to the MRT station. The food style they serve is Asian & Peranakan food. It is really nice, I love the dessert there actually. Especially the durian paste. My goodness, it is heaven! I heard that the durian paste there is the most yummy and awesome dessert. Indeed it is that yummy and I am still craving for it even till now. I have post it above, look at the durian paste beside the chocolate cake. It look nice isn’t it? But the taste is really heaven. I just simply can’t keep my mouth out of that! The food there is yummy as well. Best recommended will be their roasted pork. It is really smooth and crispy when you put it in your mouth. That goes to the balling as well, it is hot and tasty. The black sesame filling inside the balling is nice! When you eat it hot, have a bite and the juicy filling will spread it into you mouth and you will know the taste of it.! Really, it is heaven. It might be costly to have a meal over there but it is definitely worth it. It cost about 45++ per person for dinner but as for lunch, I am not very sure. You might want to check it out at their website at http://www.swissotel.com/EN/Home. There is a few buses that you can get there. It will be bus no 190 , 851 , 961 and 970 . If you want to know how to go, you can go to http://www.streetdirectory.com/asiatravel/singaporemap/business/120222/83004/, the street directory map to search on it.
A Short Brief Description of the place:
Ellenborough Market Café: Good Ol’ times of Asia [in line with our theme of bringing back future memories for everyone in times we spent together working at XOS SGP VIC]
Swissotel Merchant Court places itself amongst the top buffet venues in Singapore through its main spread of Asian and Peranakan dishes. Backed by a distinct Nonya cooking style, Ellenborough Market Café lands itself into favourite choices for everyone, appealing to the nostalgic and the curious.
The Vibe
Aptly located alongside Boat Quay, it takes just a little imagination to travel back in time to a rustic 1960s Singapore . Set in dark wooden furnishings and an old shop-house front, nostalgia overwhelms as Ellenborough Market Café reminisces of coffee-shops from half a century ago. Tiled floorings, wooden platforms and push-cart style buffet counters, together with framed paintings of Chinese ladies dressed in cheongsams, further contribute to the vintage feel of Ellenborough Market Café.
